Department of education, Ruth Pershing Uhler subject files, 1954-1971.

The subject files document the work of Ruth Pershing Uhler pertaining to the development and administration of exhibitions, special events, children's programs, docent training, membership promotions, symposia and lecture series. The subject files contain papers related to the annual Texas Art Museum Conference (Houston, 1964), Bayou Bend docent materials, and public information sheets which accompanied MFAH exhibitions. Also included are copies of press releases issued by Uhler from 1960-1966 as well as documents from the founding and administration of the Masterson Junior Gallery, opened in 1959.
